STATEMENTS BY PAST FELLOWS
Daniels and Younge Fellows, Summer 2003

In the summer of 2003, Daniels and Younge Fellows came from colleges throughout the United States. Nine in all, they were an ethnically diverse group that included graduate and undergraduate men and women. They were Mindi Lane, Wittenberg University; Shayna McDonough, 2001 graduate of Rhode Island College; Scott Simpson, Haverford College; Annah Sidigu, Kenyon College; Monica Guiterrez, Georgetown University; Mirna Callejas, Prince George's Community College; Lana Rajkumar, Vanderbilt University; and Christopher Zweifel, American University.

As part of the duties, they analyzed public policy and legislation that included the USA Patriot Act and the proposed Homeland Security bill, wrote press releases and lobbied Congress. They researched and wrote articles and action alerts, attended community and national meetings and direct actions, read and discussed interdisciplinary articles, and attended spiritual gatherings.
